Welcome to the Ambassablog! We're the front-line employee bloggers of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and participants in the Airport Authority's Goodwill Ambassador Program.

Here you'll find our continually updated posts about life at historic San Diego International Airport (Lindbergh Field). It's the nation's busiest, single-runway commercial airport and pumps some $10 billion a year into the regional economy.

Take a look around, and Email us if there's something you'd like to see added to the Ambassablog or covered in future posts.

More about EONS (part 2 of 2)

This a follow-up to my first post All about EONS from July 18.

Do you get excited over toilet bowl cleaner? You might be surprised, but a lot of my Airport Authority colleagues did recently! In an effort to get out the word on the Authority’s Sustainability Policy called EONS (which I mentioned in a previous post), we recently hosted an employee open house to acquaint each other with what we do in our jobs and what we can do in our lives at home to be truly sustainable.

And what’s an open house without prizes?!?

Every attending employee was given a very sturdy, canvass tote bag with the SDIA logo, and other earth-conscious gifts included the reusable Chico Bag and Clorox Green Works glass and toilet bowl cleaner. You wouldn’t believe what a hit the latter was; yours truly was low on both cleaners, so they really came in handy!

Part of being sustainable is having the right information and choices to act in a manner that respects our earth. It’s nice to know how much the Authority has invested in products to really promote a sustainable lifestyle—and keep your toilet bowl clean to boot!
